EP En Mi Renacer – Miriela Zaré

Cuban singer Miriela Cañizares Mendiguita, better known as Miriela Zaré, debuts with the phonogram En Mí Renacer, published by the prestigious English label Tumi Music.
A native of Sancti Spíritus, Zaré ventured into music in 2000 with the group Juventud 2000, and was part of projects such as the Coro de Claves y Rumbas Espirituano and the sextet Magali y su Jugada, among others. Already established in Havana, she was invited to join the group Café Son by Adolfo Guzmán, and two years later the female group Cubana son. In 2005 she began her journey as a soloist, and obtained the First Prize as a soloist at the Cubadisco that year, with the title “La Mujer en la Música”, representing the people of Matanzas.
Her talent also reinforced popular television programs on the island such as “Alegrías de sobremesa” and bands such as Stand By from Varadero and Los Lamas from his native Santi Spíritus. The Sancti Spiritus finally joined the project Julio Montoro and Alma Latina.
En Mí Renacer, an EP that includes five pieces, we listen to the arrangements of the guitarist Julio Montoro Curbelo and the trumpeter Juan Kemell Barrera. Zaré shows that he moves like a fish in water through different sounds of Afro-Cuban music, Quisqueyan and African rhythms.
Fallaste, a composition by Yoandri Castro, builds bridges with Dominican music, while in Detente, a song written by Luis Hidalgo Ramos and impressive in its orchestral conception, captivates us with that masterful vocal display. Dame una Señal close ties with Angolan rhythms, in this case the popular Kizomba. Renaceré (Juan Kemell Barrera), one of our favorite songs, features Yusef Díaz on piano and Leonardo Morgado on high saxophone. The fresh and contagious bolero Bendita Fantasia concludes the EP with a Cha Cha Cha cut.
